tiny newsletter edition #21: heavy world, light listens

hi friends,

how are you? today's a friday i'm glad to see roll around. the news of the uvalde school shooting on tuesday absolutely gutted me. 19 elementary school students and 2 educators dead – i have no words for the horror of it.

i donated to everytown (any donation made through may 31st will be triple matched) and found this cup of jo article helpful on what to say when calling senators, if you're looking for resources too.

choosing joy here feels hard, even though this is just my tiny newsletter going out to my friends, the world's smallest soapbox! but sending you joy is the entire goal of writing this in the first place, so here are a few uplifting recs from my week. as always, zero pressure to read on. 💗

this week, i...

🎧 listened to the podcast this morning walk, while walking in central park. it's a calming pod about taking a daily walk as a self-care practice, fitting for my new 7am walk-in-the-park routine.

💐 picked up peonies from trader joe's. one of my favorite seasonal items, 5 stems for $9.99! the bouquet made my new 30 min walk commute to tj's well worth it.

🎶 listened to harry styles' new album, harry's house. my favorite songs rn are music for a sushi restaurant and keep driving. the lyric "hash browns, egg yolk, i will always love you" makes my heart swell!

❤️ an ode to solo dates ❤️ i took myself to see the ballet a midsummer's night dream at lincoln center and it was such a delight. deciding what to wear (with edits for the walk over, ballet slippers tucked in my bag), picking a great seat since i only needed one, soaking in the beauty of the building. what's your fav solo date you've ever taken? write me back and lmk.

💌 and that's the tiny letter! thank you for reading, xo aud
