hi! i’m audrey elkus. i do a lot of things, and i love building worlds.

i’m currently the co-founder and creative director of picnic, a strategy + branding firm in nyc. we help founders and teams differentiate and scale their vision, and this often includes leaving brands, spaces, and places more beautiful than we found them.

before this, i was the co-founder of a product design studio in detroit called tait design co. we manufactured toys and homewares locally and grew from 0 to 250+ retail partners globally including west elm, cb2, restoration hardware, and the conran shop.

i’m also a writer. my picnic co-founder and i write about design and entrepreneurship through a humorous lens on corner booth. on my own, i write a lifestyle newsletter full of recs named tiny that aims to be a drop of joy in your inbox. i’ve sent out a new issue every friday at 11am since 2021.

tiny holds many of my creative explorations, like observational comics and family documentaries. making films led me to writing screenplays about: a failed girlboss trying to use self-help books to bounce back from rock bottom, catholic gen z influencers in a campy competition to become the first living saint, and a 1st date where two people don’t see each other – they’re too busy playing dating bingo.
