tiny newsletter edition #4: simple pleasures, small joys
happy friday everyone!
this week, i was allowed to end my quarantine and leave my room! a walk outside in chilly michigan winter weather has truly never felt so good.
to round out my final week of serious inside time, i…
📚 read everything i know about love by dolly alderton, a memoir about dating, romantic love, and more than anything else, the importance and power of the love found in female friendships. it was a quick and enjoyable read that made me want to abandon all other responsibilities in pursuit of traveling the world to hug all of my friends irl (aka all of you!).
😷 ran out of my tried and true cough drop choice, lemon mint ricolas, only to find an incredibly luxe upgrade outside my door. if you are also dealing with a lingering cough, i highly recommend wedderspoon’s manuka honey and ginger drops. they are v soothing, especially when combined with endless mugs of hot water (the elkus family special).
🎧 listened to this enthusiastic podcast episode about how postage stamps come to be. it was so fun and fascinating for me, a retired wellesley college mailroom worker (i adored that job!! i had the best boss and co-workers, including friends of the newsletter tashay campbell & marissa caldwell!). after you listen, mosey on over to usps’s website for stamps with far more beauty and character than the a-bit-too-patriotic-for-my-taste american flag ones. why does my local post office only ever have the flags?!

❗tip of the week❗ the easiest way to get a knot out of delicate jewelry is by using a pin needle. push the needle directly into the center of the knot and gently jiggle it around. this should allow the knot to open up! keep wriggling the needle until there’s enough space to undo it completely. and if it’s a knot of mega proportions, try this technique with two pin needles at different spots.
💌 and that’s the tiny letter! thank you for reading, xo aud
