tiny newsletter #38: an eerily easy fast

hello hello!

this week was yom kippur, the holiest of jewish holidays. it's the most serious, traditionally spent fasting for 24 hrs (no food or water) to atone for that year's wrongdoings and seal a positive fate in the book of life for the next year.

unlike last week's rosh hashanah call, i will not be inviting you to fast lmao. but that's exactly what fotn eleonora saravalle and i did this week! strangely, it went by incredibly quickly this year. i'm sure there's a joke or pun in there, but maybe it's just a good omen for 5783.

besides fasting, this week i...

👻 tracked down pillsbury ghost cookies. i was on the hunt for either pumpkins or ghosts and after visiting three different targets finally found them at a local grocery store instead. opening the box to these faces was such a delight!!

💅 restocked the olive and june nail polish remover pot. as someone who has knocked over one too many giant bottles of nail polish remover, i truly love this product. just dip your nail in and twist a few times to get back to bare.

📚 read harriet the spy. i gave this childhood classic a spin only to find that it's not quite how i remembered it. harriet is so mean! however, i agree wholeheartedly with one of her notes-to-self; "i'm glad i'm not perfect – i'd be bored to death."

💛 an ode to priya's dal 💛 one of my all-time fav recipes is cookbook author and nyt food writer priya krishna's basic dal. i made it this week w/o the additional seasoning and even on its own it's the most comforting, delicious, budget-friendly meal. 100/10!

💌 and that's the tiny letter! thank you for reading, xo aud
