tiny newsletter #143: bingo free space bday

hi friends,

i turned 28 this wk! i feel grateful to be here, grateful for another yr around the sun, even grateful for my 3 gray hairs. i'm not sure i'm any wiser, but maybe i will be by 29.

i had a lovely bday - here's a delightful manhattan itinerary for a treat of a day:

🥐 pastries for bfast. go to elbow bread for a bialy, sesame roll, and a sweet potato pretzel hug (!). then walk over to gem home's cafe for parsnip and quince cake. (both opened on wed)

📷 take a pic. old friend photobooth on orchard st uses film and is open 10a-10p everyday. it's $8 for 4 pics/strip and fyi it starts flashing sooner than you think it will.

🎨 feed your eyes. explore chelsea's galleries, rn i rec maira kalman'sstill life with remorse' at the mary ryan gallery and jordan casteel'sfield of view' at the hill art foundation (1, 2).

🚲 bike through central park. take a lap or 2 on a citibike (electric if you're me), let the wind fly across your face, go a little too fast, feel madly deeply alive.

📖 read and rest. you've been on the move, want to linger in the park? rn i'm on i'm mostly here to enjoy myself by glynnis macnicol, her recount of 6 wks enjoying paris to the brim.

🍟 diner for dinner. the vibe at superiority burger – a vegan but make it punk rock spot in the e village – is always just right. don't leave w/o the gelato of the day, whatever the flavor.

💆🏻‍♀️ wind it down. get a massage at bodyworks in fidi (a fotn liza arias, annie chen, and eleonora saravalle fav) to cap the night feeling more relaxed + aligned than you've been maybe ever.

then 8 hrs of sleep if you also can't shake a cough, haha. i’m excited to ice skate tmrw to keep the celebration going and i’m wanting to see anora too. wbu, what's on this wknd? lmk!

💌 and that's the tiny letter! thank you for reading, xo aud
