tiny newsletter edition #28: martha's vineyard recap

hi friends,

happy friday! this past weekend i visited friend of the newsletter mary ollen in her dreamy hometown martha's vineyard with fotn madeline warshaw! mary was home for just a slice of the summer and i felt so lucky to come and stay.

on the island, i...

🍗 ate rotisserie chicken for breakfast. martha's vineyard has a wonderful farmer's market with beautiful produce, homemade chocolates, and this daddy's dahlia's stand, which made me smile. my fav bite was the hero offering from goldie's rotisserie, a cutie food truck serving up one of the best birds i've ever had.

🌊 swam in the sea. historically, i am a lake girl – i've had much less exposure to the ocean. but it's magical to swim in something that can push you around, that leaves you coated in salt, that you can feel the waves from long after you've dried off.

☀️ constantly reapplied sunscreen. i've been using the famous-cuz-it's-clear supergoop face sunscreen lately and tbh i think it's time to go back to my tried and true, elta md. i'm not always sure if i've fully covered my face with the clear one, and i've noticed more zits when i use it. just my experience, that's just me.

📺 watched practical magic. this wonderful 90s movie starring nicole kidman and sandra bullock is about witches, sisterhood, dark magic, and love. plus, great fashion inspo. i hadn't heard of it, but both mary and madeline were fans and now i am too!

⛴️ pro tip: alternate ferry ⛴️ the next time you're en route to martha's vineyard and stuck in traffic, don't stress about missing the main ferry's last trip. there's a smaller boat called the patriot party boat (think transporting your party, not a boat to celebrate on) that runs through the night. this is the boat that brings the locals their mail, and it's indeed the boat that got us to the island after dark. call to ask about the day's schedule: 508-548-2626. this tip is obvi straight from mary, my #1 favorite local!

💌 and that's the tiny letter! thank you for reading, xo aud
