tiny newsletter #73: can you beweave it?!

hi friends,

how's it going on your end? this week, i went to a 2 day weaving workshop w fotn orli hakanoglu at the textile arts center in bk!

i took weaving classes in high school and wanted to see if this would be a place i could make a rug – my dream project i ran out of time to do when i was 17.

the goal of this intro class was to get a floor loom set up and test basic weaving techniques on a sampler rather than make a final product. aka, a perfect low-stakes reunion.

on sat we calculated our density (how much material we'd need), measured out the warp (the base thread structure of any project), and individually strung each thread onto the loom.

on sun we finished setting up and started weaving. i played w diff shapes, and am currently working on this one. orli finished first, look how beautiful hers turned out!!

i'll def be making a rug here, stay tuned! in the meantime, i can't rec art classes more. when's the last time you made something, anything? might feel good to sign up for one too.

💌 and that's the tiny letter! thank you for reading, xo aud
