tiny newsletter #57: vermont recap

hello hello!

i had the best time skiing in vermont w fotn jessica lee and her fam this past weekend. they have a gorgeous home there – are you kidding me w this wallpaper?!

in vermont, i...

👩‍🍳 visited the king arthur store. i lost my mind at this iconic baking company's outpost, delighted by the tiniest chocolate chips and so-good-our-jaws-dropped lemon poppyseed muffins. i left in a state i can only call “calm kitchen awe".

🏔️ hiked tucker mountain. we took the lower putnam trail, a 3 mile round trip route through the woods w beautiful views at the top. for icy hiking here or anywhere, these spikes were a lifesaver.

☕ got coffee at mont vert cafe. this sweet spot was so nice, we went twice! excellent lattes and vegan brownies, i'd go back any day to try their local and organic bfast and lunch

⛷️ skied at killington. this resort was lovely, w beautiful slopes and a kind team running it. tip: book online beforehand and don't forget their physical card for entry (like i did) or a gaiter (ditto) to protect your face from the wind.

📚 read people we meet on vacation. i snagged this book off jess's shelf, a romantic beach (mountain) read about two best friends in a will they won't they situation. jess's takeaway from the plot? “don't settle!!". she's right!

~ bonus section ~

❤️ papa lee's red date tea ❤️ every morning jess's dad made us this comforting tea, which he swears by for energy and tastes to me just like boba pearls.

recipe: rinse 1 pound dried red dates (aka jujubees) and a knob of ginger. cut the ginger into long slices, put in a large pan with the dates, and cover with water (like this!). soak overnight. in the am, boil for 1 hr, then smash the dates. pour just the liquid into a mug and enjoy!

💌 and that's the tiny letter! thank you for reading, xo aud
